Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith!" - Matthew 15:28
American Baptist Women's Ministries
American (Hepburn) Baptist Women's Ministries is a biblically based organization for Christian women to respond to one another and to the needs we see around us.
As provided by our mission statement, we present opportunities to train women to be leaders, grow in confidence, and use the gifts we have been given to serve in three areas of ministry:
1. Personal Development Ministry -
- attending
the ABCOPAD summer convention and workshops
- planning
and presenting the service for Women's Sunday
-
fellowshipping during the holiday luncheon
- delving
into scripture on a retreat day
- joining
with Church Women United in 3 annual celebrations
- relating at
the Mother/Daughter tea
2. Church and Community Ministry -
-
distributing hygiene items, bedding, and baby needs and monetary support for the
Shepherd of the Streets
- providing
outreach to Habitat for Humanity families
- honoring
former leaders and members through student loan contributions
-
contributing groceries and funding to local food and fuel banks
- sewing and
filling stockings for nursing home residents
-
"adopting" families for Christmas gifting
3. Mission and Service Ministry -
- filling
quotes for White Cross and World Relief
- rolling
bandages for the Congo
- responding
to Tools of Hope and the Blanket, Kit and Layette appeal through Church World
Service
- extending
stewardship to meet the physical needs of others through Overland and Oversees
Missions
- raising
awareness and funding for Conference, Regional, and National projects
- hosting,
sending financial support, and praying for missionaries and guest speakers
With only five scheduled meetings a year, we budget for God's blessings as we weave projects into the fabric of out church life. Our congregation multiplies our results as we continue to be people committed to Jesus and the Mission that He gave the Church.
